'Print yatra' commences

LUDHIANA : City printers have decided to promote North India printer industry and educate printers of their rights. Offset Printer Association started a print yatra on Saturday, to prepare them for the Print Art exhibition scheduled for October this year. The yatra is intended to cover major cities including Ludhiana, Pathankot, Jammu and Jaipur.

General Secretary, OPA, Kamal Chopra said, "The purpose of the yatra is not only to promote the exhibition but also to invite printers from all over India to work together for the development of trade industry."

He added that though a lot of support is provided by the government for the upliftment of the printer industry, most of the printers are unaware of the prospect.

The print yatra was flagged off by vice president, OPA, Kushal Jain at Ludhiana who said, "It is the first attempt by Printers Association and our mission is clear and constructive to promote overall development of small and micro industries in the country". Secretary, Sanjay Gandhi was present at the event.
